Railway sector

One of the fundamental aspects of railway sector safety is the functional safety of safety systems, from safety systems for tunnels, to signalling systems, to safety systems on trains. This is even more important as a result of European directives on railway interoperability and other regulations in the railway and underground stations sector which provide for the functional safety assessment according to standards EN 50126/50128/50129, derived from IEC/EN 61508.
